The homeowners wanted a cost-effective system, but one that would allow future expansion for items such as an EV charger or heat pump water heater.
Their existing electrical panel limits the size of the PV system that can be installed without making electrical upgrades. So, we provided two options, one sized to cover 90% of their electric use, requiring electrical upgrades, and another sized to maximize use of the existing electrical panel and thus maximize cost-effectiveness.
They chose the second option with provisions made for future expansion. They are pleased that we have a plan to expand if they make electrical upgrades in the future.
The high efficiency Heliene modules and SolarEdge inverters and optimizers, mean more roof area available for future expansion.
